For this mega move, Roll Lift and SHA needed Flagger Force to work with Maryland State Troopers on monitoring traffic intersections as Traffic Systems, Inc. rotated the arms of traffic lights hanging over the roadway. Flagger Force also needed to work with utility companies as they raised power lines that were stretched across the highway to allow the generator to pass. The most challenging part of the job was to have Flagger Force Crew Members stationed along Crain Highway, which is a 55 mph roadway, where steel plate bridges were temporally installed to prevent the weight of the generator from crushing the underground utilities. Truck mounted attenuators (TMAs) were important for this mega move as well. Two TMAs were stationed where there would be active flagging on Crain Highway. Another two TMAs were at the end of the convoy with the generator to warn motorists and to protect the client and workers from the various support agencies. The capabilities Flagger Force has developed over the past few years for these large complex jobs has given us a strong and positive reputation in the industry. Our employees’ dedication to quality work zones and maintaining a Safety-Driven culture has more and more clients calling Flagger Force for an ever-growing variety of exciting projects.
