Over the past month, Crew Members, Crew Leaders, and Advanced Crew Leaders were called upon to volunteer to be a part of Flagger Force’s Safety Committee. We are pleased to announce that we’ve received many submissions and the selected members will start meeting in June. These individuals will work together with their local Branch Management, Safety Professionals, and Operations Specialists to make a difference in Flagger Force by: • Sharing firsthand field experience • Changing current safety polices and creating new ones • Improving workplace safety culture Congratulations to all members and thank you all for your interest! Stay tuned for more updates from the Safety Committee. Flagger Force is excited to announce a major upgrade to the Flagger Force Online Gear Store! • The updated Gear Store will have a new look and features to buy the gear you want. • The updated Gear Store will still offer the same payment options of payroll deduction, Gear Cards, and credit cards. The store was temporarily closed as of Sunday, April 30, 2017, to make the upgrades and transition the inventory. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but we feel the upgrades were worth the wait! Please continue to check your email for further communication about this upgrade. E-ZPass Changes In March, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) announced changes coming to the E-ZPass system. New electronic toll collection (ETC) equipment will be installed at all toll plazas on the Turnpike. According to the PTC, the new equipment will comply with Federal Highway Association standards stating the feedback signal, or traffic lights, are to be removed. This means there will no longer be an indication that the E-ZPass was accepted via a green, yellow, or red light. Instead, more simplified signage will be installed. There will be no changes to the transponders. Please continue to travel through E-ZPass lanes (if equipped with a transponder) at the posted speeds for your safety as well as the safety of toll collectors and other motorists.
